PRISE

As a part of their reconstruction project, the Paks NPP has decided to develop an automatic emergency system to prevent the environment from releasing water from the primary circuit when a leak in the steam generator would enable water flowing from the primary to the secondary circuit. A time-dependent logical scheme is proposed for detecting such an event, termed as PRISE, that should fulfill strict safety requirements. Our work was to prove the validity of the detection scheme and its robustness with respect to other major failures causing loss in the primary circuit water. The validation and verification of the scheme has been performed by using a logical simulator implemented in MATLAB. Signal-time diagram analysis and probability-tree analysis have also been completed.
