László Palkovics, Government Commissioner for Artificial Intelligence, and Árpád Pikéthy, Head of IBM Hungary, jointly announced the launch of the Quantum and Supercomputing Platform at the 16th Infotér conference. The strategically important Platform, of which HUN-REN SZTAKI is a founding member, aims to place Hungary at the forefront of quantum technology and AI.

HUN-REN SZTAKI welcomed the partners of GreenDIGIT in Budapest for the mid-term All Hands Μeeting, where the collaboration reflected on progress, exchanged insights, and aligned on the next steps for the project.

Europe has joined the world’s elite club in supercomputing: JUPITER, the first supercomputer to surpass exaflops of computing power in Europe, will soon be supporting scientific research and the use of AI. HUN-REN SZTAKI took part in the Night of Museums on Saturday, June 21, 2025, with a packed house of visitors. Guests attended three different talks as part of the institute’s permanent hardware history exhibition and had the chance to try out vintage computers such as the GD 80 and the Primo—in action, with games.

Established in 2020 under the leadership of HUN-REN SZTAKI, the Artificial Intelligence National Laboratory (MILAB) operates through the collaboration of five universities, three additional research institutes, and two governmental bodies. Its goal is to strengthen Hungary's international position in artificial intelligence research and application. At the press conference held on June 2, 2025, MILAB’s professional partners briefly presented their achievements in the field of AI.
