VeRT

The European Union will launch new quality satellite navigation, the Galileo system, by 2008. In a series of preparatory projects under the umbrella of the Galileo Joint Undertaking, the behaviour and use of the future service are being exploited. We are participating in the VeRT consortium to study the possibilities and the use of Galileo for road tolling, parking and other related services. The VeRT project envisages the creation of an overall system model as well as the design and realisation of a working demonstrator. Our work performed here focuses on the user management part: the creation of the architecture for the final system, and the development of the pilot system.
