The X-ray digitizer makes it possible to replace the functions of the original film by a digital copy. This digital copy can easily be retrieved from computer systems, reviewed, transferred to needed locations, stored, thus telediagnosys is made easier. Digital X-ray has a further remarkable advantage: with the appropriate image processing programs it becomes suitable for enhancing the more important details, so abnormalities are much easier to diagnose

The digitizer, named RADRAST, has been developed using the most up-to-date 8000 pixel CCD sensor, with excellent optics and stable imaging system. The lighting system is a LED sripe with controlled red light. This system ensures the needed light value and primary light equalization. Film transport consist of a micro-step drive and a roller pair. High speed of the digitizing process is made possible by the high light value and fast data processing. The digitizer is connected to the image processing computer via 100 Mbps Ethernet link. The equipment doesn’t need any special maintenance and storage, it is intended for normal office use.
