In some relation the multifunctional welding equipment is known also in the present practice. Generally the supply units of DC-TIG and AC/DC-TIG technology are same and they are applicable for electrode welding, as well. This can be explained by the fact that all of the three welding technologies require current supply sources. But the supply units requiring voltage supply source, as in the case of the MIG-MAG technology, have not been tried to build together with the above up to the present. The laboratories and small works have a permanent lack of room, therefore, the placing of the different arc-technology supply units is problematic. The outer dimension of multifunctional welding equipment would not be significantly larger than that of equipment for only one welding technology. The multifunctional welding equipment supplemented with suitable peripheries (gas pressure bottle, different electrode holders, feeder and electrode clamping mechanisms) would be appropriate practically for all welding technologies. Nowadays, there is no similar equipment on the world market.
