On 25th November 2024 the official launch event of the HUN-REN Data Repository Platform, Our Data Gate is Open, was held as a hybrid event, in HUN-REN Alfréd Rényi Institute of Mathematics and online. On the conference leaders of the HUN-REN Research Network, and the ARP founding institutes, HUN-REN TK (HUN-REN Centre for Social Sciences), HUN-REN-SZTAKI and HUN-REN Wigner Research Centre for Physics welcomed ARP platform with its unique features supporting research.

GOBLIN (Global Network on Large-Scale, Cross-domain and Multilingual Open Knowledge Graphs) EU COST Action, starting in the fall of 2024, aims at advancing open-access knowledge quality and quantity all over Europe and beyond. To reach this goal, good quality, scalable, multilingual and preferably free-of-charge knowledge graph technology is needed. 1 October 2024 is the 30th anniversary of the World Wide Web Consortium, where HUN-REN SZTAKI has been a member for over 25 years. W3C dedicated a special section to W3C@30 at the annual TPAC (Technical Plenary and Advisory Committee) conference held in Anaheim, CA, USA. The Consortium celebrated three decades of W3C and of advances in the Web, demonstrated the incredible impact of W3C standards on the world, imagined the possibilities for the next 30 years of the Web, and enjoyed an authentic evening of talks and a gala.

HUN-REN SZTAKI Department of Distributed Systems (HUN-REN SZTAKI DSD) carried out the compliance assessment regarding PIDs on the ARP repository using the EOSC Compliance Toolkit (CAT) in the frame of a FAIR-IMPACT EU project. Based on the findings, HUN-REN SZTAKI DSD has enabled further developments in ed and improved the system regarding PIDs management in ARP, and also made suggestions on how to improve CAT usability. As the result of the assessment, a toolkit has been created to check the operability of ARP registered PIDs, that is vital to ensure that the ARP repository system will fulfill the requirements of EOSC Compliance.

In April 2024, the 33rd Networkshop Conference took place in Eger at the Eszterházy Károly Catholic University. One of the distinguished sponsors of the event was HUN-REN SZTAKI. Several departments and research laboratories of HUN-REN SZTAKI were represented at the conference - the Department of Network Security and Internet Technologies, the Department of Distributed Systems, and the Parallel and Distributed Systems Research Laboratory. They delivered presentations and workshops on various topics.
