FAIR-IMPACT project: HUN-REN SZTAKI is among the first to run compliance assessment on Persistent Identifiers (PIDs) for ARP repository

HUN-REN SZTAKI Department of Distributed Systems (HUN-REN SZTAKI DSD) carried out the compliance assessment regarding PIDs on the ARP repository using the EOSC Compliance Toolkit (CAT) in the frame of a FAIR-IMPACT EU project. Based on the findings, HUN-REN SZTAKI DSD has enabled further developments in ed and improved the system regarding PIDs management in ARP, and also made suggestions on how to improve CAT usability. As the result of the assessment, a toolkit has been created to check the operability of ARP registered PIDs, that is vital to ensure that the ARP repository system will fulfill the requirements of EOSC Compliance.

EOSC FAIR-IMPACT CAT

FAIR-IMPACT EU project aims to promote FAIR data principles and practices among research institutes, data providers and repositories through a dedicated training and support programme. Following a successful open call application, HUN-REN SZTAKI DSD participated in a project that enabled us to increase our knowledge about global, unique identification, one of the basic elements of FAIR principles. The aim of the project was to improve PID management and support.

The Hungarian National Data Repository, known as ARP, which has been operational since March 2024, is devoted to furnishing Hungarian researchers with a comprehensive and adaptable data repository service, capable of accommodating all research disciplines practised in Hungary.

Compliance assessment regarding PIDs was carried out on the ARP repository using the EOSC Compliance Toolkit (CAT). Based on the findings, HUN-REN SZTAKI DSD has developed and improved the system, and also made suggestions on how to improve CAT usability. As the result of the assessment, a toolkit has been created to check the operability of ARP PIDs to ensure that the ARP repository system will fulfill the strict requirements of EOSC Compliance.
