In addition to the usual marker made drawing, Frank Härtig received a second picture made with a new technique, using graphite pencil. HUN-REN SZTAKI is exhibiting at the conference in Hamburg all week.

The second day of the IMEKO World Congress 2024 was focusing almost entirely on the technical sessions. The day opened with a keynote speech by York Sure-Vetter, Director of the National Research Data Infrastructure (NFDI), who spoke about the systematic collection of research data and the centralised service of FAIR.

This was followed by parallel session presentations on topics such as the measurement of different physical forces, biological measurements, mathematical and geometrical results, or research related to the development of tools for manufacturing.

During the break between sessions, the HUN-REN SZTAKI booth was visited by Frank Härtig, President of IMEKO, who was drawn twice by the drawing robot: once in the company of Zsolt János Viharos, senior researcher of the Engineering and Management Intelligence Research Laboratory, and once alone, with a new procedure using a pencil.

During the evening, participants were treated to a screening of the 2020 film The Last Artifact, which tells the story of the retirement of the International Prototype of the Kilogram (IPK) in 2019 and the revolution in measurement technology.
