Data Mining and Search Group
The R&D results of the Data Mining and Web Search Group provide individual solutions for extremely large systems (large networks, data warehouses, high profile web portals) and Web information retrieval with particular emphasis on handling Hungarian language. The group works in national and international collaboration on projects involving social networks, security, customer relation management and web spam filtering. For the quality of our research results we were awarded a Yahoo! Faculty Research Grant in the academic year of 2006/07. In 2007 the Group achieved First Prize on the prestigious KDD Cup, a competition involving the best data mining groups around the world; in 2009 we received prize again. Several of our former Ph.D. students work now at the research centers of the top internet search companies (Google, Yahoo).
