József Kovács
József Kovács got his BSc (1997), MSc (2001) and PhD (2008) in the field of parallel computing. During these years he was continuously involved in numerous national, international and European (Esprit, FP5, FP6, FP7) research projects in most of which he was technical leader as well.
Between 1997 and 2008 he performed research on different fields like parallel debugging, parallel development tools, parallel checkpointing, Desktop Grid systems and Grid portals. From 2006 he was working on the field of Desktop Grid as the leader of the DesktopGrid team in LPDS. He worked on several projects (EDGeS, EDGI, IDGF-SP) focusing on tools and methods for Desktop Grid developments.
Since 2008, his research focuses on IaaS cloud related tools on the field of infrastructure orchestration and management. He is the leader and main developer of the team working on the Occopus software, which has been successfully applied in several H2020 projects for virtual infrastructure management.
During his carrier he gave numerous scientific presentations and lectures at conferences, universities and research institutes in many places in Europe and outside. He is author and co-author of more than 50 scientific papers including conference papers, book chapters and journals on parallel software engineering and grid tools particularly on parallel debugging/checkpointing, Desktop Grid, Grid portals and Cloud orchestration. Moreover, he is scientific reviewer of conferences, journals and program committe member of conferences in his research fields.
