The aim of the R&D project led by Medicor Ltd. is to increase the survival chances and ensure the quality survival of neonates born with very low birth weight (500 grams).

The development is based on an already successful cooperation established in the past with Semmelweis University and SZTAKI. Our goal is to conduct R&D activities that will result in the creation of a new, internationally competitive, market-leading, intelligent, digital, intensive, and complex neonatal medical product system that is yet not produced in Hungary. The prototypes to be created would be considered innovations not only in Hungary but also in the EU and worldwide.

MEDCIOR Zrt., maintaining its responsible social role related to newborns and preterm infants, applies the most modern technologies (artificial intelligence, big data, non-contact camera technologies, etc.) in the development of its neonatal medical instruments. This is all aimed at reducing the mortality of newborns and preterm infants and improving their quality of life.

To ensure the success of the project, SZTAKI will provide its expertise in the following research and development tasks: extracting and reducing the essential information from non-contact infant monitoring camera images using artificial intelligence, specifying data mining/AI (Big Data) tools applicable to data collected in PIC units, optimizing diagnostic algorithms, creating a data mining/AI (Big Data) platform, implementing diagnostic algorithms on embedded systems, participating in the creation of a non-contact monitor and data reducer running on embedded systems, and evaluating the accumulated data and highlighting correlations using data mining/AI (Big Data) methods.
