Intra-frame speed and image sensor chip sent for fabrication
30 November 2016
As a result of the research in the Computational Optical Sensing and Processing Laboratory in cooperation with the Pázmány Péter Catholic University, a custom image sensor chip have been developed, for vision based vehicle velocity measurement.
The specialty of this imager is that it can measure the speed of the bright objects as well as generate a sharp image within a single snapshot. The novel sensor was designed as a part of the PhD studies of Máté Németh, with the supervising of Dr. Ákos Zarándy, and our former colleague, Dr. Péter Földesy, using a 0.35um CMOS technology from Austria MicroSystems. The ASIC design containing roughly 50k transistors.
