HUN-REN SZTAKI Researchers Conduct 5G Testing at University of Oslo in 5G-SEDAR Project
The 5G-SEDAR project, now in its 10th month, reached another milestone in July as researchers from HUN-REN SZTAKI visited the Sustainable Immersive Networking Laboratory (SINLAB) at the University of Oslo (UiO). The team — comprising Mátyás Hajós, Kolos Kis-Bogdán, Zoltán Komáromi, Pál Ormos, and Emma Takács — traveled to Norway to complete system setup and perform 5G network tests.
Funded by the Imagine-B5G initiative, 5G-SEDAR is a joint effort between the Research Laboratory on Engineering & Management Intelligence, the Department of Network Security and Internet Technologies at HUN-REN SZTAKI, and MM-VILL Ltd., with coordination led by HUN-REN SZTAKI.
During the five-day visit, the team successfully calibrated, tested, and finalized a human-robot collaboration cell equipped with a 5G-enabled sensor platform and HoloLens 2 augmented reality device. Additionally, 5G network tests were conducted on the UiO testbed, with the measurement data analyzed and results already shared in a report with SINLAB partners.
Project representatives described the visit as a productive step forward, marking another significant achievement toward advancing 5G-enabled industrial applications.
