TV2 program Innovátor featured research on the forerunner drone by SZE and HUN-REN SZTAKI

The science-focused magazine show Innovátor on TV2 presented the forerunner drone, a joint research project of Széchenyi University (SZE) and HUN-REN SZTAKI.

The research was introduced to viewers by Dr. Péter Bauer, project leader at Széchenyi University, senior research fellow at HUN-REN SZTAKI, and researcher at the National Laboratory for Autonomous Systems, along with Dr. Antal Hiba, lead researcher at Széchenyi University, research fellow at HUN-REN SZTAKI, and researcher at the National Laboratory for Autonomous Systems.

To the researchers’ best knowledge, the development of the forerunner drone is unique worldwide. Its purpose is to accompany a moving emergency unit (ambulance, fire truck, or police car) in the air using a camera-equipped drone, ideally flying ahead of the unit. This allows areas hidden from the driver’s view to be monitored in advance, enabling warnings about potential dangers from those areas. More information about the research project can be found here.
