Satoshi Yagi, a robotics researcher from Kyoto University, visited HUN-REN SZTAKI

Satoshi Yagi, who works with humanoid robots among other areas, approached the HUN-REN SZTAKI researcher out of interest in the drawing robot developed in the Institute’s Research Laboratory on Engineering & Management Intelligence. He wanted to try the demonstration himself following the JST-ERCIM workshop held at the institute.

Before viewing the drawing robot and the component-sorting robot, József Váncza, the head of the lab, gave a presentation on the institute’s research activities and current solutions, including those involving robotics. Gábor Erdős, deputy head of the lab, and researcher Tamás Cserteg presented the demonstrations, answering Yagi's questions throughout.

The Japanese researcher also gave a presentation, showcasing research projects underway in the Learning Machines Group at Kyoto University’s Graduate School of Informatics. He shared his insights and vision related to reinforcement learning.
